Beauteque Monthly August 2015 BB Bag Review

My Beauteque Monthly BB Bag arrived recently, so it’s time for another review and look into the bag. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Beauteque Monthly BB Bag, it’s a beauty subscription with Korean beauty products and skincare. It costs $24/month (plus shipping).

Beauteque August

I’m always so excited for this subscription to arrive every month, because all of the products I’ve tried so far have been awesome and it’s fun to discover new brands and products.

Beauteque August Bag

As always, the bag is so cute. I love the color and the bow, but I was a little disappointed that the product information card that comes with it was stuck onto the bag and some of the ink transferred over so there’s splotches of various colors on the bag. I hope I can get it off, because this bag is too cute not to use.

Beauteque August Face

Hanaka V-Line Chin Patch – This is supposed to firm the skin and encourage a v-line shape of the chin. The scent is floral and pleasant, and I’ve never tried a chin patch before so it was fun to try and felt surprisingly nice to have on. I don’t know if it was my mind just being hopeful, but my skin did seem more firm and my chin more angular after using it. I’d happily use this product again.

Hanaka Black Rose Acne Fighting Mask – This mask is designed to re-balance oiliness, exfoliate, and “absorb impurities”. The consistency was thicker and stickier than most other masks I’ve used. My pores looked smaller and my skin a bit more bright after washing this mask off.

Beauteque August Products

Palis Facial Oil Blotting Paper – Pretty standard, but it definitely does its job and the packaging is adorable, of course.

Mizon All-In-One Snail Repair Cream – I haven’t been able to use this long enough yet to form an in-depth opinion, but it’s supposed to reduce wrinkles, acne scarring, and blemishes. I’ve heard people claim it’s a miracle product, so I’m excited to see how well it works for me. I might do a more in-depth review of it later to see if it’s made my skin beautiful. 😉 I do like that it’s very light and doesn’t have much of a fragrance, and my skin felt really soft after using it.

Beauteque August Masks

Pure Derm Hair Mask in Chamomile – This is supposed to reduce damage and frizz, and my curly hair definitely gets frizzy, so I look forward to using this. You apply it after shampooing, and then rinse after 5-15 minutes.

Pure Derm Clean and Fresh Peeling Gel – I haven’t used this product yet either, but it’s a deep cleaning and exfoliating mask. It has apple, lemon, and orange extract which sounds refreshing.

The Saem Cover Perfection Tip Concealer – This covers well and blends nicely into my skin tone.

Holika Holika Wonder Drawing No Smudge Liquid Eyeliner – Easy to use, and stays put once it’s applied.

July 2015 Ipsy Bag Review

I’m back and recharged after a bit of an unplanned hiatus! What better way to jump into posting again than with a review of this month’s Ipsy bag? The theme for this month is Summer Lovin’.

July Ipsy Bag

I must say that this is the only month so far that I haven’t been super excited about my bag, but one less than awesome bag in all the months I’ve been subscribed really isn’t that big of a deal.

July Ipsy Contents

Aurora Gel Effect Nail Lacquer in 4 Alarm Fire – I’m not a super huge fan of the color, but it applies nice and even and I do like the shiny, sturdy gel effect it has.

Pūr~lisse Pur-bright Ultra Skin Brightening Serum – I’ve received many Pūr~lisse items in my Ipsy bags and I’ve always been happy with the quality of the products, and this one is no exception. It claims to “strengthen skin against future damage, while safely decreasing melanin production for fewer age spots.”

Eva NYC Freshen Up Dry Shampoo – I was very impressed by this product. I always appreciate a good dry shampoo since my curly hair does not like to be over-washed and stripped of its natural oils. This is a perfect product for between washes. It smells amazing and doesn’t leave any white residue.

July Ipsy Collage

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics 2-in-1 Shadow/Liner – It glides on smoothly, but I don’t love the color and probably won’t end up using it much.

Crown Brush Professional Tweezers – I wasn’t really in need of new tweezers, but the color is adorable so I can’t complain too much. 😉

January Favorites

January went by really fast for me! Did it for anyone else? I put together a quick selection of my favorites for the month of January.

January Favorites

Curly Wurly Shampoo from Lush – Once I learned how to use this (as it doesn’t lather in your hands easily, and is a different consistency than any other shampoo I’ve used before) I was hooked! It smells like delicious coconut, and it keeps my curls looking very nice.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Istanbul – This is a gorgeous light pink shade. I normally rock a bold lip, but this is a nice muted color, perfect for everyday wear.

First Frost by Sarah Addison Allen – I normally only include beauty products in my favorites, but why not change it up a bit? My favorite author, Sarah Addison Allen, released a new book in January and I have been instantly hooked, just like on every one of her other books. It perfectly combines modern living with a whimsical and magical touch. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something new to read.
