Holiday Gift Guide – Bookish Gifts

Back when this was a beauty blog, I used to love creating gift guides for the holiday season. With December fast approaching, I thought it’d be fun to make a bookish gift guide. I’m sure we all have someone in our lives who loves to read, and I picked out some of my favorite bookish selections.

Which bookish gift would you love to give or receive?

The Christmas Tag

Hope it isn’t too soon to be doing another tag! 😉 I feel like all my warm fuzzy thoughts about fall have been replaced with excitement for winter and Christmas. It’s been snowing here for the past several days, and seeing the blanket of white dust over the road and trees makes me feel very Christmas-y. I thought it’d be a perfect time to transition my blog and posts to get in the Christmas spirit! I saw the Christmas Tag on Milk Bubble Tea and thought it’d be fun to join in.

Christmas tree

1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
I don’t think I can name just one! I always love watching ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas. They have so many cute movies to watch. A must watch in our house every year is always Elf.
2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Christmas Eve! It’s always been that way, ever since I was a child.
3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
Every year, my dad and I would go to a Christmas tree farm and pick out the perfect tree. As I got older, I would get to help cut it down. Also, being a kid and getting to decorate Christmas cookies with my mom.
4. Favourite festive food?
My mom always makes the most delicious Christmas dinner. I’d have to say, I love the rouladen the most. And the broccoli casserole. I’m getting really hungry now. She also bakes a delicious red velvet peppermint cake. So good!
5. Favourite Christmas gift?
I went through a skateboarding phase as a teenage. I really, really wanted a skateboard. My parents kept saying no, which I didn’t really understand and I was really upset. Then that year, as a huge surprise, because I thought it was hopeless, there was a nice new skateboard waiting for me under the tree.
6. Favourite Christmas scent?
The scent of the Christmas tree! I also love the scent of all the food and baked goods that are made this time of year.
7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Just spending time with family. We normally have a nice dinner and then open presents and watch a movie afterwards.

8. What tops your tree?
When I was a kid, it was always an angel. I picked her out when I was very young because I thought she was beautiful. Now that I’ve moved out, my husband and I have a pretty gold star.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
I don’t think I ever asked for anything too extravagant, to be honest. I think I remember joking about wanting a pony, but that was never serious. 😉

10. What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
Spending time with family and loved ones. Just being all snug and cozy and relaxing. It’s such a peaceful time.

Feel free to do the Christmas Tag on your blog and send me a link so I can check it out! Or you could participate in the comments. I’d love to hear about all your traditions!
